As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, Instagram Reels did not have a built-in feature to display lyrics directly on the video like some other platforms. However, you can add lyrics to your Instagram Reels using a creative workaround by manually overlaying text on your video. Here’s how you can do it:
1. Prepare Your Video:
- Create or choose the video you want to use for your Instagram Reel. Make sure it’s saved to your camera roll or gallery.
2. Create or Find Lyrics:
- Decide on the lyrics you want to add to your Reel. You can type them out manually or find them online.
3. Use Video Editing Apps:
- To overlay lyrics on your video, you’ll need to use a video editing app. There are several apps available for both iOS and Android devices that can help with this. Some popular options include:
- InShot: This app allows you to add text, including lyrics, to your videos.
- Adobe Premiere Rush: A more advanced option for video editing.
- CapCut (formerly Viamaker): Offers various text and font options for your videos.
4. Add Lyrics to Your Video:
- Open the video editing app of your choice and import your video.
- Add text to your video. Type in the lyrics you want to display and adjust the font, size, color, and position as desired. Make sure the text is legible and doesn’t obstruct important parts of your video.
5. Time the Lyrics:
- If your Reel includes multiple sections with different lyrics, you’ll need to time the appearance of the text to match the lyrics’ timing in the song. Most video editing apps allow you to adjust the timing of text layers.
6. Export Your Video:
- Once you’ve added and timed the lyrics, export the edited video from the video editing app.
7. Share on Instagram Reels:
- Open the Instagram app and go to the Reels section.
- Tap the ‘+’ icon to create a new Reel.
- Select the edited video with lyrics from your camera roll or gallery.
- Add any additional effects, music, or captions if desired.
- Share your Reel with lyrics on Instagram.
Please note that Instagram’s features and capabilities can change, and there may be updates or new features related to adding lyrics to Reels that have been introduced since my last knowledge update. Be sure to check the latest app updates and Instagram’s official resources for any new features or tools related to Reels and adding lyrics.
